Cecelia A. (O’Donnell) Durham – 80, of North Reading and formerly of Dorchester and Roxbury, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Durham, Sr.

Born in Boston, MA on July 1, 1937. She was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (McCarthy) O’Donnell.

Cecelia worked in the Claims Department at Eastern Insurance Group in Wakefield for many years and has been retired for the past 5 years. She enjoyed line dancing, gardening and traveling. Cecelia has been a resident of North Reading for over forty years.

Family members include her loving son, Charles J. Durham, Jr. of North Reading; daughters, Cecelia Alice Durham of North Reading and Jennifer L. Fales and her husband Keith of Middleton; sisters, Patricia Curley and her husband Paul of Hudson and the late Margaret Piquette; grandchildren, Joshua and Gabriel Fales (Mr.G), both of Middleton; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 1 at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading, followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Jean Lillian (Boyd) Nichols, died peacefully at the Royal Meadow View Center in North Reading on April 22, 2018 at the age of 87, after a 12-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). She is preceded in death by her husband Ted (Feb 11, 2018), son Mark Nichols and sisters Eleanor Hood Putnam and Beatrice White.

Jean is survived by her brother Robert Boyd of Haverhill,  six sons and five daughters-in-law, Ted & Connie Nichols of Kennebunk ME, Karl and Helene Nichols of Virginia Beach, VA, David and Barbara Nichols of Derry NH, Peter Nichols of Wenham, Andy (Retired NRFD) and Suzanne Nichols of North Reading, Guy and Jessica Nichols of Lowell and the late Mark Nichols and his wife Kara originally of Tyngsboro.

Jean was born on March 5, 1931 in Somerville, MA, to Lillian (Smith) and Alden John Boyd. She grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Edward M. Nichols, II on Sept 8, 1950. They were married for 67 years, had seven sons, 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a secretary for a number of years and a loving and dedicated wife and mother of seven sons. She was not only the “boss” but the “heart and soul” of her family.

Jean had many interests throughout her life such as quilting, flowers (Wakefield Flower Club) as well as being an active member at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover as well as an involved and dedicated member in the overall Christian Community (Church Women of Woburn).

She and Ted enjoyed travelling over the years, including multiple trips to Italy while her son Karl lived there, mission trips to Mexico and visiting her “pen-pal” of over 60 years in England. She also enjoyed many summers with her husband and family in Wells, ME and North Haven Island, ME.

A wake is scheduled for May 11, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. A funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover is scheduled for May 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by a burial at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean’s life. Cesino  B. “Chet” Perella – 86, of Wilmington, formerly of Jeffersonville, IN and North Reading, died at his home on April 17, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeana “Charlene” (Doan) Perella, who died this past September.

Born in Boston, MA on May 21, 1931. He was the son of the late Ludovico and Alsa (Gerosina) Perella. He was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. Chet was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, he was an Airman First Class and served from 1950 to 1954.

Chet was a chef and caterer for many years, he owned and operated Perella’s Cold Cut Center and Perella’s Catering, he also worked for Lombardo’s, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Houghton Mufflin and Wang. He was a member of the North Reading Masonic Lodge and a Life member of the Lawrence United Masonic Lodge, he was also a member of the Shriner’s and the North Reading Moose Lodge.

Chet was a fun loving person, who loved to travel with family and friends. He volunteered extensively for the Shriner’s and Mason organizations. He loved college football, cooking and volunteering many hours umpiring for the North Reading Men’s Softball League and the North Reading Little League.

Family members include his loving children, Pamela Lewis and her husband Jerry,  Louie Perella and his wife Doreen, James Perella and his wife Kathy and Sherri White and her husband Steven;  brother, Ludovico Perella and his wife Mary and sister, Gina Vozzella; brother-in-law, James Doan and his wife Elaine ; six grandchildren, Kurt Jones and his wife Breanne, Eric Jones, Jenelle Braga and her husband Brian, Lou E. Perella and his wife Laura, Kyle White and Ethan White; 6 great grandchildren, Nate, Preston, Norah, Riley, Kailey and Lucy.

Eric  D.  Diamond  – 42, of Concord, NH and formerly of Revere, MA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

Born in Stoneham, MA on July 5, 1975. He was the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Pirello) Diamond. He was raised in Revere and attended Revere High School.

Eric was a Mechanical Technician for Diamond Heat in North Andover.

He loved his family, he had a warm heart, a great sense of humor and he loved to laugh. He was the best husband and father anyone could ask for. Eric was also an animal lover and had a special love for his dogs. Eric loved playing sports with his sons. He liked building car models and had an enormous collection of Legos. He also had a passion for collecting walking dead figures.

Family members include his loving wife of 13  years, Lori (Peabody) Diamond; his sons, Tyler, Kyle and Austin Diamond; brothers, Randy and Scott Diamond; sisters, Carla Carpinelli, Kim Grant and Meagan Diamond.

Gerald A. MacAdams, 70, of North Reading, succumbed peacefully to cancer at his home surrounded by his loving family on April 12, 2018.

Gerald is survived by his wife Dorothy (Callahan) MacAdams of 42 years.  Gerald and Dorothy are originally from Medford and moved to North Reading in 1976 where they built their life and raised their family.

He is also survived by his four children and their families; son, Joseph R Healy, Jr. of North Reading;  daughter, Sheila (Healy) Sturdevant and her children; Meghan Masellas, Sydney, Mackenzie and Samantha Sturdevant all of North Reading;  daughter, Jaime (MacAdams) Wentworth and her husband Brett Wentworth and their children, Jessica, Alexandra and Jacob Wentworth of Thornton, Colorado;  son, Christopher MacAdams and his wife Bonnie (Stanley) MacAdams and their children, Devin Stanley, Juliana, Ashley and Aidan MacAdams, all of North Reading;  brother, Lawrence MacAdams and wife Barbara; brother, Kenneth MacAdams and sister, Cheryl (MacAdams) Breen and her husband Fran, and many extended family and friends.

Gerald loved baseball, softball, bowling, basketball, gardening, fishing, Boston sports, Newfound Lake vacations.  But most of all, spending with his friends, family and especially his grandchildren at his home enjoying barbeques in the backyard and pool side all while laughing, teasing, talking and even singing favorite songs to his wife.

Gerald was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country.  He was also a brother in Local 29 Boilermakers for 43 years.
