Marjorie Masi

Marjorie “Margi” (Whiles) Masi-devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the honorable age of 92.

She was a North Reading resident for over 70 years.

Born in Cambridge, MA on April 22, 1934, she was the daughter of William H. Whiles and Jeanne Lillian (Cosgrove) Whiles.

Margi was raised in Medford and Stoneham. Margie was a Stoneham cheerleader and active in their plays. She was an executive secretary for many years before starting her family with John “Jack” Masi. She then later helped him build and grow his commercial tile business.

Margi’s greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love in her son, John Francis Masi and her daughter Elisabeth Ann Accardi

( husband Ricci). To her grandchildren, Rachel Jeanne and Steven Daniel, she was affectionately known as “Marni”—a doting grandmother who never missed a single milestone, game, or event where she could cheer them on. She will also be deeply missed by her brother Bob and his wife Cheryl, her sweet cat Lilly, and many nieces and nephews.

Margi was a woman ahead of her time, an avid reader who embraced health and fitness long before it was fashionable. She enjoyed traveling to her Florida home and visiting with family there.

She is now peacefully reunited with her parents, her husband Jack, her sisters Jean Eveleth and Sandra Brooks, and her brother Jerry Whiles.

Services will be private and are under the direction of the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading.

  1. Such a sweet lady always! Beautiful inside and out!so sorry for your loss. Lisa. And to Linda Hicks.

  2. Marg was one of the most incredible women I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. For the past seven years, I’ve taken her grocery shopping twice a month, and not once was there ever a dull moment with her. She was glamorous, endlessly kind, and had the most beautiful soul. We connected on so many levels, and I could have listened to her stories and conversations for hours. She truly became the grandmother I never got to have.

She loved her family more than anything in this world. Every trip together was filled with stories about them, their accomplishments, and the joy and pride she felt watching them succeed. You could see how deeply she loved every single one of them.

What I wouldn’t give for just one more shopping trip with her. But I take comfort in believing she is at peace, living beautifully in heaven just as she did here on earth. She left such a lasting mark on my heart, and I will miss her more than words can say.
