Cynthia Mary Hunt

Cynthia Mary Hunt -64, a lifelong resident of North Reading, died unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Born in Woburn, MA on December 8, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen (Browne) Hunt of North Reading. Cindy was a member of Saint Theresa’s Church and a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1972.

Cindy worked in the investment industry for many years, she worked with Tucker, Anthony & Company in Boston for 25 years and for the last 17 years with Moors & Cabot Inc. as an Operations Associate in their Boston office.

Cindy loved singing karaoke, where she regularly performed with many of her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Kathleen Hunt and her brother Robert Hunt. She is survived by one brother, Stephen Hunt of Methuen.

Although she lost most of her family far too soon, Cindy had many friends to whom she was essentially family. Cindy was considered a member of the extended Perella family, with whom she celebrated all major holidays. She was an honorary aunt to Kurt Jones, Eric Jones, and Jenelle Jones Braga and great aunt to Preston and Kaily Braga, whom she loved to tease and spoil. Preston & Kailey’s favorite pastime with “Auntie Cindy”, aka “Auntie Pumpkinhead”, was her annual Christmas Eve sleepover to open presents with them on Christmas morning. She was a sister to Pam (Perella) Lewis for 55 years, since the Perella’s moved to North Reading. Honorary family also included Janice Curran, with whom she loved playing cribbage, and her special friend David Frasier.

Calling hours will be held at Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading  on Tuesday, November 12 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, followed by a Memorial Service, Celebrating her Life, from 6:30 to 7:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.

  11. I am deeply saddened with the loss of Cindy. Our family was very close to the Hunt’s growing up in the 60’s. I am sure she is once again wrapped in the arms of her parents and brother Bobby. So sorry Steve. Hang in there

  12. Cindy and have been part of the same “karaoke gang” since the early 1990s, traveling from one venue to another after one closes down. I am very fortunate to be able to call Cindy a friend, and she has been a great one to all of us. I am very shocked and saddened by her loss, as I know all those fortunate enough to know her must be. My favorite memories of Cindy are her giving in and singing “Don’t Rain On My Parade” when I pleaded with her to, and Cindy and Frasier’s duets on “The Phantom.” My condolences to the rest of Cindy’s friends and family, we lost a great person.

  13. So sorry for your loss. I was one of Cindy’s karaoke friends, she will be greatly missed. I’m honored to have known her. My prayers go with you. Love, Doreen M. Knight.

  15. I’ve known Cindy and worked with her for over 40 years.
Cindy was always willing to pitch in and help whenever needed. Her experience with new accounts and providing assistance to the branches was invaluable to the firm. She was dependable, conscientious and always in the office by 7:30 am.
From the days of after work gatherings at the Fatted Calf and the Scotch & Sirloin we had a lot of fun times. I share many happy memories of Cindy.
Unfortunately, recent circumstances prevent me from attending her memorial service.
My sympathies to her extended family of friends. She will be missed.

  16. I’ve known Cindy for many years as she was a co-worker to my sister Deb. She was a thoughtful, kind person and the mitten-master of Massachusetts. I still have a beautiful pair of mittens she made for me many years ago. Rest in peace Cindy.

  17. Cindy. My singing partner and wonderful and special friend I remember clearly the night I met her in 2004 at Daniela’s Restaurant in North Reading. She had a great controlled voice, one that’s inherited not trained. She was gifted not only in her singing but knew how to be the best friend ever to all who knew her. I already miss her very much. My deepest sympathy goes out to her extended family and friends. With Love and Deep Sympathy…Frasier

  18. Cindy, I will remember your smile, and your beautiful laugh; and I will hold you in my heart. You’ll be with Mom, Dad, and Bobby now, and our parents will probably be playing bridge. Wishing you love and peace.

  19. Cindy, I will miss our talks every morning at work. I loved hearing about your crazy singing weekends. Rest in peace my friend. Sorry I could not make the funeral. You will be greatly missed. Carolann
