Donald  G. Moreira – 87, of Andover, formerly of South Carolina and North Reading, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Wingate of Andover. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Marie “Judy” (Dee) Moreira.

Born in Cambridge, MA on June 16, 1932. He was the son of the late Edmund and Mary (Rego) Moreira. He was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He enlisted at age 18 and he served from 1950 to 1953.

Don was a truck driver for many years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He worked for Jeffrey Chemical in Wilmington and also drove cement trucks in South Carolina. Don was a former member of St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading.

He was known for his sense of humor and coined the phrase “dad Joke”. Don  always had a one liner, he was quick witted and had a sunny disposition. He loved working in the yard and planting annuals in the garden in North Reading and South Carolina. Don enjoyed entertaining by the pool and cookouts. He liked cooking on the grill and playing “Scat” with his friends.

Family members include his son, Daniel LaMore and wife Melody of New Market, NH; daughters, Donna Baxter and Husband Gary of North Reading, Darlene Moreira of Ridge, NY, Terri Ball and husband Walter of Manchester, NH, Kelly Fletcher and her husband Steven of Wilmington and Dawn Robinson and husband David “Chuck” Robinson of Methuen; his brother Robert Moreira and his wife Elizabeth “Betsy” Moreira of Stoneham; sisters, Jacqueline Pando and her husband Charlie of Ladylake, FL and Louise Tarr of Tewksbury; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Cynthia Mary Hunt -64, a lifelong resident of North Reading, died unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Born in Woburn, MA on December 8, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen (Browne) Hunt of North Reading. Cindy was a member of Saint Theresa’s Church and a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1972.

Cindy worked in the investment industry for many years, she worked with Tucker, Anthony & Company in Boston for 25 years and for the last 17 years with Moors & Cabot Inc. as an Operations Associate in their Boston office.

Cindy loved singing karaoke, where she regularly performed with many of her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Kathleen Hunt and her brother Robert Hunt. She is survived by one brother, Stephen Hunt of Methuen.

Although she lost most of her family far too soon, Cindy had many friends to whom she was essentially family. Cindy was considered a member of the extended Perella family, with whom she celebrated all major holidays. She was an honorary aunt to Kurt Jones, Eric Jones, and Jenelle Jones Braga and great aunt to Preston and Kaily Braga, whom she loved to tease and spoil. Preston & Kailey’s favorite pastime with “Auntie Cindy”, aka “Auntie Pumpkinhead”, was her annual Christmas Eve sleepover to open presents with them on Christmas morning. She was a sister to Pam (Perella) Lewis for 55 years, since the Perella’s moved to North Reading. Honorary family also included Janice Curran, with whom she loved playing cribbage, and her special friend David Frasier.

Anthony “Tony” Moretto – 59, of Methuen and formerly of North Reading, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Born in Boston, MA on January 29, 1960, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kelly) Moretto. Tony was a graduate of North Reading High School. He has been a resident of Methuen for the past 16 years and was a member of St. Lucy’s Church.

Tony was a self-employed licensed plumber for many years, he recently worked for Climate Design and Tower & Williams.

Tony always put everyone else first. He had such a big heart and his children and grandson were the absolute world to him. He was the first to crack a joke and always made everyone laugh. He took the most pride in drawing with his children, coaching sports and being Mr. Fix it. He also enjoyed gardening and was a baseball card collector. Tony would turn any normal situation into something fun and exciting.

Family members include his loving wife, Melissa (Cincotta) Moretto; his son, Charles Moretto; his daughters, Toni and Gia Moretto, all of Methuen; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Moretto and his wife Jeanne of Weymouth, Steven Sonia of San Diego, CA, Gary Moretto and his wife Jen of Wilmington and Richard Moretto of Boston; his sisters, Christine MacHugh and her husband Phillip of Wakefield and Charly Moretto of Chicago, IL; his grandson, Jordan Pappalardo and many nieces and nephews.

Anerio  P.  Cincotta – 82, of Stoneham and formerly of North Reading, died Friday, October 18, 2019 at Winchester Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Born in North Reading on May 18, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Raphael (Tellerino) Cincotta.

Anerio trained in construction, demolitions and firearms as a soldier with the U.S. Army Reserves Combat Engineers. He has been a resident of Stoneham for the past 57 years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Republican National Committee.

As a young man he worked as a driver for Fox & Ginn Freight Trucking Company, and had a small gunsmith business in his garage named Al’s Gun Shop. As his business grew, with his wife by his side, he expanded into firearms, camping gear and general sporting goods, opening “Sportsland”, a place for outdoor enthusiasts.

He owned and operated Northeast Auto Body & Towing Service for several years, eventually transitioning to the general manager and claims adjuster for Peter Fuller Cadillac in Boston.

He also worked for the North Shore Bus Company where he prepared competitive bids and managed a fleet of school buses, providing transportation to many communities throughout Massachusetts.

Anerio owned and operated Cincotta Express, Inc., a nationwide moving and storage company. He was an agent for National Van Lines, which hauled commercial products and household goods for the Department of Defense.  He developed the business into a fleet of tractor-trailers and moving trucks.  He owned several storage warehouse facilities in northern Massachusetts and opened a second location in Atlanta, Georgia.  He enjoyed being on the road driving his tractor-trailer, exploring and looking for adventure.

A lifelong entrepreneur and businessman he recognized opportunity others could not see.  He was a strong man with a vision, always thinking of ways to generate income and grow his businesses.  He was willing to take calculated risks and challenges most people would not attempt. In business he had successes and failures, learning lessons along the way. Life was not always perfect; there were a few bumps along his chosen path but he never let missteps define who he was. He enjoyed talking with people and could tell a story that would leave you wondering if it was fact or fiction. He enjoyed working with his hands and seemed to always know just how to fix something.

He loved trucks, tractors, equipment and tools. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history and politics. In his retirement he bought and sold antiques.

Anerio enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family and provided a good life for them.

Family members include his loving wife of 62 years, Marilyn I. (Cerino) Cincotta; his son, Paul M. Cincotta and his wife Erin; his daughter, Deborah J. See and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Melissa LaMalfa, Jonathan P., Courtney, Thomas, Lillian and Rebecca See, Caroline and Richard Cintcotta; great grandchildren, Luciana LaMalfa and Carter Lawson; his brother, Richard Correlle. He was the brother of the late Paul, Lou, Bernie and Tony Correlle, Jennie Collins and Mary Grecco. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Col. Louis Datillo, USMC Retired – 87, of Beverly and formerly of North Reading, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Laura M. (Turcotte) Datillo.

Born in Beverly, MA on July 8, 1932. He was the son of the late Kenneth “Red” and Mary Datillo. Lou was raised and attended school in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1950 and a graduate of Boston University, Class of 1954.

He was a proud U.S. Marine Corp’s Veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1954 to 1978 and achieved the rank of Colonel. He later worked in the private sector at Liberty Mutual and John Hancock Insurance Companies.

Lou was a former resident of North Reading for 47 years. He was active in many organizations in town. He was one of the original organizers of North Reading Pop Warner Football. He was the Director of the North Reading High School Marching Band and coached for many years with the North Reading Men’s Softball League. He was the Director of the North Reading Recreation Committee and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lou was the Commander of the Vittori-Rocci Post No. 56 in Beverly for several years. He was the Commanding Officer for the U.S. Marine Corp’s Reserve Amphibious Unit in Lawrence in the 1970’s.

Family members include his daughter, Desneige M. Datillo of North Reading; sons, Peter K. Datillo and his wife Katey of East Kingston, NH and Matthew A. Datillo of Winthrop; grandchildren, Isabella Grace Datillo, Alexander Louis Datillo and Nicholas Donald Datillo of East Kingston, NH; he was the father of the late Jeanne and Louis, Jr. Datillo and brother of the late Josephine Datillo.
