Ruth A. Lucci

Ruth LucciRuth A. (Woods) Lucci – 69, of North Andover and formerly of North Reading, died at her home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Born in Charlestown, MA on November 5, 1946. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Ruth (Joyce) Woods. Ruth was a homemaker and has been a resident of North Andover for the past 4 years. She was raised and attended school in  North Reading and was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Ruth was a proud wife, mother, sister, aunt and most of all nana. She was the caretaker and protector of her entire family all her life. She was a mother figure to all children and a favorite auntie to many of her nieces and nephews. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays in the entire extended family. Ruth was the life of the party and enjoyed many great get-togethers with her family over the years.

Ruth loved playing and specifically winning at 500 Rummy. She enjoyed trips down to the casinos to play the slot machines, she loved to crochet and made many pieces for all of the babies in her life.

Family members include her loving husband of 37 years, Anthony W. Lucci; sons, Thomas Williams, Wayne Williams and Anthony I. Lucci;  her daughter, Clementina (Tina) Lucci; brothers, John Woods, William Woods and Daniel Woods; sisters, Marsha Pierce and Kathleen Roberts,  4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; she was the sister of the late Michael, Tom and Paul (Buddy) Woods.

Her funeral will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, June 10 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Roscoe (Rocky) Croswell

Rocky croswell picRoscoe (Rocky) Croswell – 75, died on May 8, 2016 in Lady Lake, Florida.  He was ill for the last few years, but he fought a good fight to the end.  He resided in the Villages, Florida. Formerly of  North Andover and Norway, Maine.  Rocky lived in North Reading the first half of his life.  He attended school in North Reading.

He worked at South Elementary School in Andover, MA, before that at the Quincy Shipyard. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in North Reading for many years. He especially enjoyed playing golf, snowmobiling and playing cards. Rocky was a kind, loving person, always ready to help anyone. He enjoyed people and having fun.

He was the son of the late Willis and Thelma (Birkmaier) Croswell.  He is also predeceased by his brother Willis Jr. (Sonny) Croswell and wives, Jean (Campbell) and Anita (Parisi).

He is survived by sister, Thelma (Croswell) Socia of Methuen, niece Lynne and husband Jeffrey Messer of Methuen, nephew John Young of Plymouth.  Also his step-children Patty and husband Joe Dube, Richard and Brenda Houde. Diana and Fred Glassett, Susan and Danny White and 9 grandchildren.  Also his very dear friend Gerry Huyssoon.

Services will be private and are under the direction of the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.

Paul S. Fiore

Paul Fiore picPaul S. “Sambo” Fiore – 60, of North Reading, formerly of East Boston, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Winchester Hospital.

Born in Winthrop, MA on September 19, 1955. He was the son of the late Samuel and Nancy (Serino) Fiore. He was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1974.

Paul was a retired Chef Manager for the Mount Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. He has been a resident of North Reading for the past 55 years and a member of St. Theresa’s Church.

He was known for his great sense of humor, his caring, his willingness to help others and his smile. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan, he loved dogs and classic cars, enjoyed connecting with friends on facebook, camping and cooking.

Family members include his loving wife of 21 years, Susan (Tiplady) Fiore; his sisters, Roberta (Bobbi) Silva of Salem, NH and Barbara Fiore of Plaistow, NH; sister-in-law, Donna Cloutier, of Plaistow, NH; close friend Lillian Zwicker of Salem, NH; a nephew, Louis Silva of Boston and a niece, Shannon Silva of North Andover.

His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Wednesday, June 8 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 7 from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Margaret D. Moretto

margaret moretto picMargaret  D. (Kelly) “Peggi” Moretto – 76, of Wakefield, formerly of South Boston and North Reading, died at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2016.

Born in Boston, MA on July 12, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Spaulding) Kelly.

Peggi always put herself last.  She was most giving, generous and loving person. She would do anything for anyone. She was proud of her Hospice volunteer work. Her happiest memories included spending time with her grandchildren and summering in Rockport and Jellystone Park with her family.

Family members include her loving sons, Charles Moretto and his wife Jeanne of Weymouth, Anthony Moretto and his wife Melissa of Methuen, Steven Moretto of San Diego, CA, Gary Moretto and his wife Jen of Wilmington and Richard Moretto of Boston; her daughter, Christine MacHugh and her husband Phillip of Wakefield; 11 cherished grandchildren, Becky, Beth, Annie, Charly, Toni, Lee, Jenna, Garett, Tess, Charles, Gia and Tulley and a great grandchild, Jordan;  she was the wife of the late Charles Moretto, sister of the late James M. “Jim” Kelly and Elizabeth Lynch. She left behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Santo J. Terranova

terranova pic2Santo J. Terranova  – 89, of North Reading and formerly of Watertown MA, died at the Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danvers on Wednesday May 25th 2016.

Born in South Boston, MA on August 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Guiseppina (D’Arrigo) Terranova.  Santo was a graduate of South Boston High School. He worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Somerville, as a Sewing Machinist for many years.

He has been a resident of North Reading for the past 54 years and was a member of St. Theresa’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with family, relatives, friends and neighbors.  He was a master handyman and could fix anything that people called upon him to do. He was a devoted husband and father. On Halloween he would dress up as a clown and hand out candy to kids in the hospitals. He especially enjoyed golfing.

Family members include his loving wife of 63 years, Rose A. (Arico) Terranova; his sons, Paul J. Terranova and his wife Debbie of Wilmington and Robert J. Terranova and his wife Gigi of Haverhill; his daughter, Sandra Terranova of Rowley; his grandchildren; Keri, Andrew, Anthony and Andrea; he was the brother of the late Anthony, Frank and John Terranova, Anna Micheroni and Dorothy Rotundi.
