Marcia E. Costanza

Marcia E. (Van Deusen)  Costanza  – 84, of North Reading, died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph P. Costanza, Sr.

Born in Randolph, VT on September 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jesse (Hitchcock) Van Deusen. Marcia was a graduate of South Royalton High School in Vermont and she attended the University of Vermont.

She was a floral designer for Mahoney’s in Winchester and also worked as a shoe sales clerk at Eugene’s of Reading.

Marcia has been a resident of North Reading for sixty years. She was a member of the League of Women Voters for over fifty years and served in many roles including president, mentoring new members and providing candidate’s night for every election. She was a very active member of St. Theresa’s Church. She participated in Bible Study, taught CCD and helped in many outreach programs including Christ’s Hands. Marcia was a member of the Garden Club and a Girl Scout leader. Marcia loved playing the piano, traveling and gardening. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Family members include her loving son, Ralph P. Costanza, Jr. and his wife Susan of Norfolk, MA; daughters, Karen O’Leary and her husband Daniel of Ipswich and Regina Sanfilippo and her husband Salvatore of Irvine, CA; sisters, Myra Berube of TN and Julia Van Deusen of FL; grandchildren, William, Matthew and Christopher Costanza, David and his wife Valerie and Mark and his wife Megan O’Leary, Michael and Leah Sanfilippo; great grandchildren, Mary Grace, Deirdre and  Xavier O’Leary; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Saturday, January 14 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 13, from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Margaret T. Lannon

MARGARET T. “Peggy” (Davis) LANNON

Peggy was born in Medford, MA on August 5, 1920, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2017. Beloved daughter of William Lawrence and Maryellen (Coss) Davis.  Beloved wife of the late William E. Lannon.  She is survived by daughter’s Donna McConaghy of Methuen, MA, Debbie and husband Richard LeGrow of North Reading, MA, Jill and husband Keith Russo of Guilford, CT, sons Jeff Lannon and wife Lauren of Franklin, MA, and William E. Lannon, III of Danvers, MA.  She is predeceased in death of her daughter Denise Vescovi and her late husband Richard and son-in-law Benjamin McConaghy. Peggy was the last surviving sister of the six beautiful Davis girls, Agnes Cummings, Dorothy Tierney, Lillian O’Neil, Irene Corbett and Ann Furey.  Grandmother to Kim and Benny McConaghy, Ryan and Tim LeGrow, Amy Risacher, Matthew Vescovi, Jamie Lannon, Hillary and Dylan Lannon, Rene`e and Kai Russo.  Great Grandmother to Jackie and Jordan Morocco, Denise Risacher, Aiden, Emma and Ryan LeGrow.

Peggy in her younger days, along with all her sisters, was an outstanding competitive swimmer. The Davis girls of Medford were tough to beat!  Peggy took up the game golf at 50 years of age, and excelled at it, playing up to 90 years of age! Was a member of the Thompson Country Club of North Reading. Mom also enjoyed dancing, singing and participated in the Melrose minstrel’s shows, back in the day.  Peggy also had a great sense of humor and was fun to be with.

Peggy was a great Mother to her children, grand and great grand children. Peggy will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Her funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Monday, January 9 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 8 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody. Patricia A. Parrott

Patricia A. (Ryan) Parrott – 82, of West Peabody, died Friday, December 23, 2016, at Salem Hospital.

Born in Cambridge, MA on November 19, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Timothy J. and Kathryn (Kelleher) Ryan. Pat was a graduate of Rosary Academy in Watertown, Girls Catholic High School in Malden and Salem State College in Salem. She was a resident of West Peabody for over fifty years and was a member of St. Adelaide’s Church.

She was a School Teacher and Vice Principal at the Hood School in North Reading from 1956 to 1993.

Family members include her loving husband, Louis J. “Jim” Parrott; children, Gary Parrott , Brenda Barnard and Ann Casey; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday, January 3 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford. Peter A. Chochrek

Peter A. Chochrek, 58, of North Reading, died December 25, 2016. Born in Cambridge, Peter was the son the late Charles and Katherine (Sidabras) Chochrek and the brother of Joseph of Scituate, Paul of Somerville, Claire of Medford and John of Somerville and the late Charles and Edward Chochrek. A graduate of Somerville High School, the Peterson School of Engineering and a member of the Auxiliary Fire Department in Cambridge, Peter was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed working out at the gym. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30th, at St. Theresa Church, 63 Winter St. North Reading, followed by interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, 409 Corey Street, West Roxbury.   Donations in Peter’s Memory may be made to Supportive Living, Inc., 400 West Cummings Park, Suite 6100, Woburn, MA 01801.

Mildred L. McDonald

Mildred  L.  (Melanson)  McDonald – 90, of Wilmington, formerly of North Reading and Reading, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. McDonald.

Born in Reading, MA on July 4, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (White) Melanson. Mildred was raised and attended school in Reading and has been a resident of Wilmington for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to her family.

Family members include her loving son, Robert J. McDonald and his wife Sylvia of Wilmington; grandchildren, Stacey Goodwin of Wilmington and Robert E. McDonald of New Zealand; great grandchildren, Sean Goodwin of Wilmington and Zachery and Chloe McDonald of New Zealand.
