Barbara A. O’Leary

Barbara A. (Stinson) O’Leary – 72, of Lynnfield, formerly of North Reading and Reading, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the North Shore Medical Center – Union Hospital in Lynn.

Born in Milo, Maine on January 17, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marion (Hanscom) Stinson. Barbara was a graduate of Stoneham High School and Bryant and Stratton School in Boston.

She was known for her kindness and loving care of others. Barbara was loyal and dependable and a genuine person.  She was generous and totally devoted to her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed family, cooking, gatherings at the lake, and friendship at Old Orchard Beach Wild Acres Resort. Barbara was a homemaker and has been a resident of Lynnfield for the past 32 years

Family members include her loving husband of 52 years, Stephen Q. O’Leary; daughters, Kim Steele and her husband Chuck of North Reading, Melanie MacLean and her husband Kevin of North Andover, Stephanie Meer and her husband Bill of Atlanta, Georgia; her brother, Robert Stinson and his wife Louise of Topsfield; her sister, Ruth Hunewill and her husband Ken of Billerica and seven cherished grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading is in charge of arrangements.  www.croswellfuneralhome.com

  1. I am so so sorry to the O’leary family. I remember Mrs. O’Leary being a kind, loving and extremely supportive parent to her 3 girls. Sending prayers and strength to Mr. O’Leary, Kim, Melanie, Stephanie and families. May she remain forever in your hearts.
