Doreen  H.  Ingram – 66, of Methuen, formerly of North Reading, died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Born in Dorchester, MA on December 6, 1955. She was raised and attended school in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1974. She later attended Northeastern University in Burlington.

Doreen was a stay-at-home mom. She was self-employed in the fabric business. She was empathetic. She loved animals, music and nature. Doreen was very selfless and kindhearted; she would do anything for anyone. She believed music is the universal language to peace, love and understanding. She had a tremendous love of family.

Doreen loved to make jewelry and play her guitar. She loved her Siamese cat Coco. Doreen said that her heart will always be on Looney Hill. She grew up with lots of woods with paths and forts. North Reading will always be her home.

Family members include her loving father Owen J. Ingram and her late mother Miriam J. (Perry) Ingram; her sons, Kenny Giles, Scotty Giles and Patrick Marino; her brother, Danny Ingram and his wife Rhonda; her niece, Kelsey Ingram and her nephew, Ryan Ingram; grandchildren, Kayla Dube, Kayla Murphy, Felicity and Ameila Veach and Joleen Giles.

Her Funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Wednesday, February 9 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Visitation will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday, February 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Margaret  E. “Peggy” (MacGibbon) Hardy – 85, of North Reading and formerly of Melrose, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Bear Mountain of Reading. She was the loving wife of the late Noel Hardy.

Born in Malden, MA on October 28, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret  (McClellan) MacGibbon. She was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. Peggy` worked many years at Cerretanis in Melrose, which became Shaw’s and in later years she worked at the local Laundromat. She was lovingly referred to as the “Mayor” because she knew everyone.

Peggy had a big, beautiful smile and was known for her wit, her sass and her compassion that made people feel welcome.  She had a strong love of God and she had a great love for her family. Peggy loved to knit, to read, doing crossword puzzles and scratch tickets. She enjoyed various church activities and was a member of the Sunday Night Bowling League in Wakefield for many years.

Family members include her loving sons, Steven M. Hardy and John S. Hardy; daughters, Lyn Hardy Wilson, Nancy E. Hardy and Christina M. Hardy; brothers, Robert MacGibbon, pre-deceased by David and Donald MacGibbon; pre-deceased by sisters, Patricia Meuse, Ruth Crivello and Dottie O’Keeffe, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Nicholas  R. Gangi – 93, of Somerville, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.

Born in Boston, MA on March 9, 1928. He was the son of the late Emanuele and Mildred C. (Giannusa) Gangi. Nicholas was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he enlisted at age 18 and he served from 1946 to 1947.

He worked as a Purchasing Agent for the Charlestown Navy Yard for 25 years, Hanscom Air Force Base for 15 years and also for Sears.

Nicholas has been a resident of Somerville for the past 77 years. He was a member of the Boston Table Tennis Club, National Table Tennis Association and World Veterans Table Tennis Association.

Family members include his loving wife of 61 years, Iris D. (Heid) Gangi; his daughters, Valery Allen of Kodak, TN, Brenda Weaver and her husband Kerry of Westford and April Gangi of Somerville; his brother, Victor Gangi of West Newbury; 6 grandchildren, Hillary Vite and her husband Gilberto of TN, Jason Weaver of MA, Bruce Weaver of NH, Vance Banks of WA, Cory McGill of AZ and Curtis Banks of TN and 4 great grandchildren in TN. He was the brother of the late John and Emanuele Gangi, Madeline Wetzler, Teresa Payne, Josephine Gangi, Stella Meyer and Anna Desmarais.

His Funeral will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Thursday, February 17 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM.  Robert  F. O’Brien, Sr. – 91, of North Reading, died Thursday evening, January 27, 2022 at the Blair House in Tewksbury. He was the loving husband of the late Marilyn H. (Magliozzi) O’Brien.

Born in Brighton, MA on July 14, 1930 to the late John C. and Mary Theresa (Lucey) O’Brien. He was a graduate of Roslindale High School and attended Northeastern University and State University of New York at Buffalo.

A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Bob served from 1950 to 1954 on the USS Midway.

He was employed as a retail milkman for White Brothers in Quincy from 1955 to 1960. Lux Transportation as a Sales Manager for 5 years, Ormes Transportation as Vice President for 10 years, and Greyhound Van Lines as a District Manager for 10 years.

He was the former president of South Shore Toastmasters and President and founding member of the Professional Moving Consultants of Massachusetts. Bob was a resident of North Reading for over forty years and an active member of St. Theresa’s Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and an Altar Server. He was also a volunteer at the Merrimack Valley Hospice in Lawrence.

Loving children include Kathleen M. Petronzio and her husband Nick, Patricia A. Silverman and her husband Stuart, Theresa J. O’Brien, Donna L. Panopoulos and her husband Ted; Robert F. O’Brien, Jr. and his wife Debby, Christopher D. O’Brien and his wife Catherine; grandfather of Adam, Daniel and Jake Petronzio, Michael Coffill, Nicholas and Jeremy Montecalvo, Kayleigh Dunn, Jessica Greenfield and Conor O’Brien, Samantha Meaney and Madelyn and Riley O’Brien; great grandfather of Sadie and Charlie Dunn and Noah and Sheamus Montecalvo. He was the brother of the late John O’Brien.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading on Saturday, February 5 at 11:00 AM. Nancy  K. (Innis) Williams – 91, of North Reading and formerly of Lynnfield, died at her daughter’s home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Williams.

Born in Gloucester, MA on November 9, 1930. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jane (McDonald) Innis.

Nancy was a homemaker and has been a resident of North Reading for the past 51 years. She was a gifted artist and she loved spending time with her family. She loved walking the beach and going to movies. She especially enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking.

Family members include her loving son, Wayne J. Williams of North Reading; daughters, Lynne A. Plomondon of Acton, Maine and Pamela Griswold and her husband Keith of North Reading; grandchildren, Rick Plomondon of San Diego, CA, Pamela Plomondon and wife Lesley Wendt of Lebanon, Maine, Adam Griswold of North Reading and Nathan Griswold of Hamilton and her great granddaughter Ariana Plomondon.
