Anthony Italo Lucci –Passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 18, 2019, he was 37.  Born and raised in North Reading, MA.  He attended North Reading schools and the Northeast Metro Technical.

Survived by his loving daughter, Paige Lucci, his father, Anthony W. Lucci, his late mother, Ruthanne Lucci (Woods), sister, Clementina (Tina) Lucci and his brothers, Thomas and Wayne Williams.

Tony’s presence on earth was larger than life itself, there aren’t many men like him and few will merely ever come as close.  He was caring, sensitive and sweet.  His proudest moment in life was the birth of his daughter Paige, who shares his button nose and warm smile.

He was the life of the party, enjoyed being from a large family and always looked forward to gatherings with his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Tony had a love of all things New England sports, a passion he picked up from his father.  They spent many afternoons and evenings quizzing each other on Red Sox trivia, past and present.  He will be missed by so many, he will always be remembered for being kind, loving and supportive.  His smile will never fade, it will be carried in all of our hearts, in eternity.

North Reading, Massachusetts — Marie S. Duff died peacefully Thursday the 15th of August 2019 at Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Winchester, Massachusetts.

Born in 1929 in Springport, New York, Marie graduated from Union Spring Central High School in 1947. She married Orville Lee Duff in 1953. She was a long-time employee of Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati. After her retirement, she moved to Melrose, Massachusetts and then to North Reading, Massachusetts. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose and active in the Thrift Shop there.

She is survived by her brother, Cleon Salvage, and his wife, Eleanor, of Fairport, New York; her son, Scott Lee Duff and his wife Susan, of Greensboro, North Carolina; and her daughter, Shawn Duff Intorcio, and her husband, John, of North Reading. She was loved by her five grandchildren: Sarah D. Werner and her husband Jordan of Abilene, Kansas; Peterson Scott Duff of Greensboro; Kimberly Duff of St. Louis, Missouri; Joshua Intorcio of New York, New York; and Jacob Intorcio of North Reading. She is also survived by her great-grand-daughter, Leeah Marie Werner, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose at a later date to be announced. Memorial gifts may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. Geronimo (“Ronnie”) A. Atinaja, a resident of Wayne, NJ, who was born in the Philippines and immigrated to America in 1971, passed away in North Reading, MA at the age of 84 from heart failure.

A leader of the Filipino-American community in New Jersey, he was an active member of the fraternal Organization of the Order of the Knights of Rizal New Jersey Chapter, member of the board of directors of the Philippine Day Organizing Council, which has held annual celebrations of Filipino Independence Day each June in Passaic, NJ, for more than 35 years, a member of the Federation of Philippine Societies in New Jersey, and a founding member of the Filipino-American Community of St. Anthony Church in Passaic, NJ. He was an officer and member of the Lion’s Club of Bergenfield as well as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Perez Council 262 in Passaic.

Ronnie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of the East, Manila, Philippines, and was a retired real estate broker at Weichert Realtors in Clifton, NJ.

He was married to the late Marcelina V. Atinaja for 35 years until her passing in 1994. He is survived by two lovely daughters, Mary Josephine (Marjo) Faller, a Professor of Nursing, and Juliana (Julie) Atinaja-Dougherty, a retired attorney, his sons-in-law Froberto Faller and Sean Dougherty, as well as four grandchildren: Veronica, Theresa, Joseph and Anthony.

Anthony  Ventura – 59, of Lynn, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 20, 2019.

Born in Lynn, MA on October 31, 1959, he was the son of the late Walter and Lena (Brienza) Ventura. He was raised and attended public schools in Lynn.

Anthony worked for over thirty years as a truck and motor coach driver.

He loved his family and all of his nieces and nephews. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing large mouth Bass, he enjoyed camping and watching Boston sports teams, the Bruins, Pats, Celtics and Red Sox. He especially loved watching comedies and listening to Billy Joel music.

Family members include his loving sisters and brothers, Rita Dunleavy and her late husband Robert, Linda Ventura, Richard Ventura and his wife Ann, Judith Ventura, Carol Nelson and her husband Harold, Guy Ventura and his wife Laura, Joanne Caron and her husband Gary and Virginia Serven and her husband Lawrence, he was the brother of the late Walter Ventura, Jr. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara L. (Hooper) Towers –  76, of North Reading, formerly of Lynnfield and Tewksbury, died at her home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Born in Weymouth, MA on January 5, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Marjorie (Lyons) Hooper. She was raised and attended school in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School, Class of 1960.

Barbara worked for many years for Dynamic Research Corporation (D.R.C.) in Wilmington.

She was a loving mother of three, devoted wife, doting grandparent and great grandmother. Barbara loved watching and feeding her birds; antiquing, going to York Beach, vacations in the family camp in Sargentville, Maine, cooking for her family and gardening.

Family members include her loving husband of 56 years, Daniel Towers; sons, Mark Towers, Steven Towers and the late Kevin Towers; late daughter, Melissa Dickinson; late brother, Roger Hooper; 6 grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel and  Ambur Towers, Michael and Robert Dickinson and Nicole Parker; 4 great grandchildren, Zoey, Max and Catherine Towers and a new baby on the way.
