Joyce A. Capaldo

Joyce A. (Branchini) Capaldo – 72, of Wakefield, formerly of North Reading and Wallingford, CT, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Born in New Haven, CT on September 13,1951, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Adelaide (Iannuzzi) Branchini.

Joyce was retired and worked for New England Telephone for many years. Joyce moved from Connecticut when she was 12 years old. She was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1969 and later attended Northern Essex Community College.

Joyce always thought of everyone, she always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. She never went anywhere without a host gift. She loved her family, friends, Christmas Eve and trimming the Christmas tree, champagne, espresso martinis and black coffee. She enjoyed game shows and reality TV, the sun, any kind of soup, chicken wings, chocolate and shopping, especially on Amazon.

Joyce was amazing at home decor, wrapping gifts, crafting and making photo collages. She loved to cook, clean and stay organized. She has a huge collection of books, Barbies and Santa Clauses.

Family members include her loving husband of 48 years, Bruce Capaldo; her daughter, Christine Capaldo; her son, Michael Capaldo and his wife Michelle (Bernier) Capaldo; her sister, Karen (Branchini) Ash, and her two loving grandchildren, Logan and Lucas.

Services will be private and are under the direction of the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill Street, Reading, MA 01867.

  2. My heart is breaking….Joyce and I shared a apartment back when we were working for Ma Bell.
    I can still hear that laugh of hers.
