Anita R. Butler

Anita R. (Materazzo) Butler – 61, of North Reading, formerly of Medford and Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Cambridge, MA on November 3, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lillian (Gronokowski) Materazzo. She was raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.

Anita worked as a mortgage specialist for twenty years at the Stoneham Bank and other banks for a total of 36 years in banking. She has been a resident of North Reading for the past 30 years and a member of St. Theresa’s Church. Anita supported whatever they had for the clothing and food drives. She also supported the Toys for Kids drive or whatever she could do to donate.

Anita cared for all people, whatever they had going on. She was always caring and touching a lot of people’s lives. Anyone that met her became her friend for life.

Family members include her loving husband of 40 years, William S. Butler; her brothers, Dave Matthews and his wife Barbara of Lynnfield, Paul Materazzo and his wife Margie of Cambridge and the late Anthony Materazzo; sisters, Joanne Materazzo of Medford and Jane DeMarco of Staten Island, New York.

Her funeral will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading on Saturday, January 4 at 10:30 AM. A collation will follow at Angelica’s Restaurant, 49 S. Main Street, Middleton. There will be no calling hours.   20. Anita is a ray of sunshine that touched so many people along her path in life. Her warm smile and unconditional way of giving to others created an example to follow. I am truly fortunate to have known her for the 20 years we worked together. My deepest condolences to her husband Bill and family.
