Isabel Medeiros

Isabel Medeiros – 73, of North Reading, formerly of Wakefield and Somerville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Born in Maia, Azores, Portugal on February 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Magdalena (Pereira) Medeiros. Isabel has been a resident of North Reading for the past 3 years, living with her daughter Lisa’s family and was a former resident of Wakefield for 12 years. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading.

Isabel worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Fairlawn Nursing Home for many years.

She devoted her life on her children and grandchildren and always put family first. She enjoyed the simple treasures of life. She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for her unconditional love to her family.

Family members include her loving daughter, Lisa Marie Dempsey and her husband Robert; her son, Thomas Ponte; her brother, Edward Medeiros; sisters, Natalia Moniz and Marie Medeiros; grandchildren, Yvette Rivera, Ava and Aiden Dempsey.

Her Funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Monday, February 3 at 9:15. AM, followed by an 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass from 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will be held in Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice. www.croswellfuneralhome.com

Louis J. Parrott

Louis J. “Jim” Parrott – 90, of West Peabody and formerly of Lowell, died Monday, January 20, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Ryan) Parrott.

Born in Lowell, MA on March 3, 1929. He was the son of the late Louis J. and Marion (Dube) Parrott. He was raised and attended school in Lowell. Louis was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and served from 1946 to 1949.

Louis worked as a truck driver for many years for Capital Motors in Lowell. He has been a resident of West Peabody or over forty years a member of St. Adelaide’s Church.

Family members include his loving son Gary Parrott of Monticello, Florida; daughters, Brenda Barnard of St. Helens, Oregon and the late Ann Casey; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; he was the brother of the late Donald Parrott.

His funeral will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Thursday, January 30 at 11:00 AM. There will be no calling hours. Albert L. DiSalvo

Albert L. DiSalvo – 74, of North Reading and formerly of Boston, died Monday evening, January 13, 2020 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” M. (Eldringhoff) DiSalvo.

Born in Boston, MA on February 9, 1945. He was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria “Frances” (Bruno) DiSalvo. Al was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1962 and was a graduate of Wentworth Technical Institute, Class of 1986.

He worked for the Town of North Reading as Assistant Building Inspector for over 20 years and just recently retired. Al was a United States Coast Guard, Vietnam Veteran. He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer, he received a Bronze Star and served for a total of 30 years from 1964 to 1994.

Al was a resident of North Reading for the past 45 years and a member of St. Theresa’s Church. He was a member of the Top Three Military Retired Association, Inc.

Al was always there if anyone needed him. Everyone in North Reading knew him and loved him. He loved to work in the garden and he especially loved his service with the U.S. Coast Guard.

Family members include his son, Anthony DiSalvo, his daughter, Dena Timoney and her husband Jeffrey; his brother, Ricardo DiSalvo and his wife Deanna and his granddaughter, Alexia Timoney.

His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday, January 21 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62) North Reading. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. William R. Winter

William R. Winter – 62, of Reading, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

He was born in Weymouth, MA on May 18, 1957. He was the son of the late Norman J. and Janet F. (Hall) Winter. Bill attended Reading public schools and was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1976. He also attended Middlesex Community College and was a graduate of Salem State College with a B.S. in Business.

He worked in the construction industry for many years and has been a resident of Reading for the past 56 years.

Bill had a big heart; he loved his family dearly and was always willing to lend a hand. He had a good sense of humor and was always joking around.

Bill loved to read, fish and travel. He has been to many countries and he especially loved Costa Rica.

Family members include his loving brothers, Norman J. Winter, Jr. and his wife Jan of CA, the late Thomas F. Winter, Sr. and Dennis J. Winter and his wife Karen of Reading; his loving sister, Lisa M. (Winter) Richardson and her husband James of North Reading. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Saturday, January 11 at 8:30 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:45 AM.

Eric W. Rollfs

Eric W. Rollfs of North Reading passed at Lahey Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, December 23, 2019, at the age of 61.

Eric grew up in Topsfield, graduating high school from Masconomet and earning a Bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College. Eric worked for many years at Blue Raven Tech in Wilmington as a sales account manager and, more recently, for the US Postal Service in North Reading.

He kept the book for his sons’ baseball games in Little League, attending all of his kids’ sporting events as a fan through their college years. His favorite pastime was taking his dogs, Maybelline and Poe, around town, from the golf course to Ipswich River Park to Dunkin Donuts for a doggy munchkin. He was quick to pick up new skills, from carpentry in his home to working on cars.

Eric was the beloved husband of 24 years to Patty Rollfs, deceased in 2014, and the loving son of late Doris Rollfs (King) and late Edward Rollfs of Topsfield. He was the cherished father of Mark, Dennis and Ellen Rollfs, all of North Reading and Allston. Brother of Bud Rollfs and his wife Sue of Andover, Judi and Frank Green of Queen Creek Arizona, Deb and Jeff Wizig of Richmond California, and the late Gretchen and Rodney Snyder. Son-in-law to Helen Collins. Brother in-law of Catherine Sutherland and her husband Gene, Denyse Collins and the late James Collins, and Helen Anne Cowan. He was a loving uncle of 21 nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, December 30 at 11:30 AM at St. Michael’s Parish, 196 Main Street, North Andover. Calling hours will be held before his Funeral Mass from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading.
