Sean E. Burke

Sean E. Burke – 35, of North Reading, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Born in Stoneham, MA on April 1, 1984. He was raised and attended school in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 2003.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Afghanistan War. He was a private First Class and he served from 2008 to 2011. Sean was a Disabled Veteran.

Sean was loving and kindhearted. He was especially proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He had pride and honor for his country. He Loved golfing and Candlepin Bowling.

Family members include his loving parents, Edward J. and Sandra M. (Surprenant) Burke; his brothers, Kevin J. and Scott H. Burke; his sister, Morgan E. Burke and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ronald L. Annand

Ronald L. Annand – 85, of North Reading, formerly of Medford, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Beloved husband of 62 years to Frances (Esposito) Annand. Loving father to Ron Annand of Methuen; Scott Annand and his wife Jennifer of Dalton and Sheila Annand Carey of Methuen. Proud grandfather of Domenic, Nathaniel and Zachariah Annand of Dalton and Adam Carey of Methuen.

Ron served in the Army National Guard for many years. Before his retirement, he was employed as a Quality Control Inspector and after his retirement, he ran his own furniture refinishing business. Ron was a sports enthusiast of all levels. He was not only a fan, but he was very involved in town sports including coaching little league baseball, Pop Warner football and softball. He was a longtime parish member of the St. Theresa’s Parish of North Reading including serving as an usher for the last 30 years.

He loved to travel with his wife, children and grandchildren especially on cruises to the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He was passionate about family, food and scratch tickets. No one who knew Ron will ever forget his whistle. When he whistled, you answered. His startling blue eyes and infectious smile will be forever missed, but not forgotten.

Visiting hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5 – 9 P.M. Funeral from the Croswell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7 at 9:15 A.M., followed by a 10:30 A.M. Funeral mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading to follow.

Warren R. Pearce, III

Warren R. “Ricky” Pearce, III – 48, of North Reading, died Monday, February 17, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Topeka, Kansas on February 1, 1972. Ricky attended North Reading Public Schools.

Ricky worked for Pearce Construction Company in North Reading for many years and he also worked previously for AutoZone in South Yarmouth.

Ricky had a great sense of adventure; he loved a challenge and had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets and nature, spending time with friends and he loved his two daughters with all his heart. Ricky enjoyed Sci-Fi shows and loved music. He spent a lot of time taking things apart and rebuilding electronics.

Family members include his loving daughters, Madison and Payton Pearce, his wife, April Muise Pearce; his parents, Patricia A. (Pothier) Pearce and Warren R. Pearce, Jr. and his wife Holly; his sister, Jennifer L. (Pearce) Iosua and her husband Richard and Jessica Boyer-Klopp; his brother, William D. Pearce; stepsons, James, Shayne and Brandon Muise and stepsister, Emily Lee and her husband Eric and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, February 21 from 4 to 8 PM. Margaret “Jeanne” Bjorkgren

Margaret “Jeanne” Bjorkgren – The gentle soul of Jeanne Bjorkgren joined the angels on January 29, 2020, she was 83 years old and a resident of Cohasset.

Jeanne loved collecting rare vintage items, she loved rescuing cats and spent countless hours in her gardens. She enjoyed family visits in her family home of over 100 years and was generous in showing her younger cousins her rare finds, especially antique dolls and explaining their origins.

Jeanne graduated from Cohasset and Archbishop Williams High School and went on to work at John Hancock. She attended St. Anthony’s Church in Cohasset.

Jeanne leaves Laurie Leone Gonsalves, Barbara Carlson, David and Laura Coletta and her rescue cat, Ollie. Arrangements will be held at a later date and are under the direction of the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. www.croswellfuneralhome.com

Nancy L. MacDonald

Nancy L. (Monahan) MacDonald – 83, of North Reading and formerly of Malden, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Robert J. “Bob” MacDonald, who died this past September.

Born in Malden, MA on October 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late P. Humphrey and Ruth (O’Loughlin) Monahan. Nancy was a graduate of Malden High School. She has been a resident of North Reading for the past 53 years and a member of the Trinity Evangelical Church. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to her family.

Family members include her loving daughters, Cheryl Gauthier, Ruth Bernard and Susan Warren, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ruth Finnegan.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Evangelical Church, 105 Haverhill Street, North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 14 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
