George L. Lord – 87, of North Reading, died at his home on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy “Bobbie” (Rees) Lord.

Born in Stoneham, MA on April 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Wilbur C. and Edith (Kitchell) Lord. George was a lifelong resident of North Reading. He was a retired Grounds Keeper for the North Reading Public Schools. He also served in the U.S. Army.

George loved fishing, boating, Nascar Racing, traveling in his RV, camping and restoring and working on his antique cars. He was a huge family man. He was always looking out for the best interests of his family. He was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help out anyone.

Having so many children, it brought a lot of other children into his life. He took them under his wing and gave them advice that he hoped would help them through whatever problems they would tell him.

Family members include his loving sons, Clifford Lord, William Lord and his wife Kerry, and Kenneth Lord and his wife Renee; daughters, Debra Lafreniere and her husband Larry, Robin Lord, Dee Lord-Burke and her husband Lynton Burke, Penny Esposito and her husband William, and Kimberly Lord; his brother Robert Lord; his sisters, Sally Maker and the late Nancy Porter; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his companion Susan Swallow.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 AM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 31 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

Janet E. (Staples) Kazmierczak – 69, of North Reading and formerly of Everett, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Malden, MA on August 12,1954. Born in Malden, MA on August 12,1954.  She was predeceased by her father, Jack Staples, her mother, Claire Ciol and stepfather, William Ciol and brother-in-law, Stephen Kazmierczak. She was a graduate of Everett High School, she attended Salem State College and graduated from Bunker Hill Community College. Janet was an I.T. Training Consultant for BigHand Document Creation Company. She has been a resident of North Reading for the past 40 years.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and best friend. She never complained and always thought of helping others. She was known for being a great cook and loved trying new recipes. She had the most joy playing with her grandchildren.

She loved to travel, especially Disneyworld and her second home in Fort Myers. Cooking was a passion she passed to her two sons. She loved spending time with her dear friends visiting their homes and traveling. She also had a great love for gardening.

Family members include her loving husband of 47 years, Paul Kazmierczak; her sons, Michael Kazmierczak and his wife Kelly of Boxford and Christopher Kazmierczak of North Reading; brother, Joseph Ciol and his wife Barbara of West Dennis;  sister-in-law, Janice Kazmierczak; grandchildren, Mia and Michael Kazmierczak; nieces and nephews, Aubrey M. Ciol, Stephen Kazmierczak and wife Laurie, Teri Henderson and her husband David and Jim Kazmierczak.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 29^th at 10:30 AM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28^th from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.

James Harold Dalelio – 25, of Lynnfield, passed away at his home on Friday, May 17, 2024. After a short battle with Brain Cancer.

He was born in Winchester, MA on August 18, 1998. He was raised in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Essex Technical High School in 2017. He has been a resident of Lynnfield for the past 21 years.

James would drop what he was doing for anyone in need of a friend. He always brightened people’s mood. James never left home without saying ‘I love you’. He wanted to get lost in adventures. He would walk, talk and eat in his sleep.

He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, music and being on Chronicle for his potato on a stick. He was always the class clown around his friends, wife, daughter and family. He wanted a Subaru WRX 22B EJ225. James has been 2 plus years sober from alcohol!

Family members include his loving wife Olivia (Bonaventura) Dalelio; his daughter Stella Rose Dalelio; his mother Michelle (Hall) Dalelio; his grandfather Harold G. Hall and his late grandmother Sheila M. Hall; his brother Alex Dalelio and sister Jacquelynne Dalelio.

Barbara L. Bowden– 72 of Peabody, died on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Brooksby Village in Peabody. Services will be private.

Dorothy A. “Dot” (Jones) Tompkins – 86, of North Reading, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Tompkins.

Born in Wakefield, MA on May 19,1937. She was the daughter of the late Elmer R. and Janet G. (Spear) Jones. She was a lifelong resident of North Reading, she attended North Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Class of 1955.

Dot was a homemaker and Retail Clerk at Marshalls. Dot never complained and she never wanted to be a burden, she always wanted to help. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed assuming the role of hostess in gatherings, always ready to assist in any way she could.

In her early years she was known for making her own grape jelly, maple syrup from trees in her yard and canning anything from her garden that the family couldn’t finish in season. Dot was fond of refinishing old furniture which extended to sanding, refinishing and polishing the 100 year old wide pine floors in her first house. Dot loved to watch the birds in her gardens, vacationing in Maine, coloring, playing solitaire, attending her granddaughter’s dance recitals and going to the North Reading Memorial Day parade with her grandchildren.

Family members include her loving sons, Jeffrey and Andrew Tompkins; daughters, Leanne McTague and Beth Lucas; her brother, Elmer Jones and his late wife Virginia, late brothers, Kenneth Jones and late wife Natalie and the late Melvin Jones and his wife Janice Jones; her late sister Muriel Titus, her late sister Janet Roberts and her late husband Walter; 11 grandchildren and 3 great granchildren

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00 AM at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill Street, North Reading. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
