Charles  A.  Coppola – 81, of Wakefield and formerly from the North End, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Born in Boston, MA on September 17, 1941. He was the son of the late George and Louise (Manganiello) Coppola. He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and he attended Suffolk University.

Charles worked as a proofreader for the Boston Globe. He also worked for TWA and American Airlines. He was member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers. He was the general chairperson and organizer of District Lodge (IAMAW).

Charles was the founding member of the Friends of the North End, which is a clear indication of what family and friends meant to him. He was an avid golfer, traveler and a lover of all things social. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield.

Family members include his loving wife Joanne (Sylvester) Coppola; sons, Charles (Chad) Coppola, Jr. and Richard Ripley and his wife Danika; he was the father of the late Dawnmarie Ripley; brother of Anthony Coppola and his wife Candy, Anna Bevilaqua and her late husband Emil and Barbara Coppola-D’Ambrosio and her late husband James; he was the loving grandfather of Jayne and Evan Coppola and Spencer Ripley.

His funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, October 21 at 11:30 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut Street, Lynnfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. William Michael Bernard Tryder, III of Mirror Lake, NH formerly of North Reading, MA and Englewood, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the age of 73.

Bill was born in Arlington, MA and raised in North Reading, MA. He was the son of the late William Michael Bernard Tryder, Jr. and late Kathryn (Driscoll) Tryder. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Julie (Hobart) Tryder and children, Carrick J. (Tryder) O’Brien and husband Michael of Shrewsbury, MA, William M. B. Tryder, IV and wife Alicia of Andover, MA, Timothy H. Tryder and wife Bobbie of Andover, MA; Six grandchildren Kathryn and Liam O’Brien, William Tryder, V and Benjamin Tryder, and Caleb and Nolan Tryder. Bill was the oldest of five children and protective big brother to Ann (Tryder) Ramsey, Beverly (Tryder) Novello, Russell Tryder, and Randy Tryder. Bill was a proud Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Bill loved spending time with family and friends at Keoka Beach Campground, sailing on Troika and road trips in the family motorhome – often with a caravan of family following his lead.

Bill graduated from North Reading High School in 1966 and was the captain of the football team and had non-singing parts in all the high school musicals. He attended Merrimack College and Northeastern University. Bill was fiercely proud of his service in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.

Aside from his steadfast belief in treating people fairly and doing what was right, Bill was an influential member in all the communities he lived, developing small businesses, and shaping municipal policies. Bill took great pride in Co-Chairing the building committee for the North Reading Town Common Bandstand. Bill was the Real Estate Broker at Tryder Family Real Estate, leaving in 1989 to join Read Corporation as the Director of Marketing. Most recently, Bill owned Benchmark The Marketing Company.

Norman Bragner – 69, of North Reading and formerly of Charlemont, died on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Augsburg, Germany on November 29, 1952. He was the son of the late Norman S. and Sonja M. (Lieglein) Bragner. He was a member of the U.S. Army.

Norman was a Sales Associate for Home Depot and was a resident of North Reading for the past 22 years. He was a friend to most. Norman loved camping and riding motorcycles, he enjoyed collecting albums and photography.

Family members include his son Christian Bragner and his daughter Amanda Bragner. He was the grandfather of Autumn Rose Bragner.

Willie Joe Dowling – of Wilmington, died Monday, October 10, 2022, at age 82. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Arrangements are by Croswell Funeral Home.

Eleanor T. (Pizzolante) Jean – 90, of Reading and formerly of North Reading, died Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was the beloved wife of the late Neal “Onel” E. Jean.

Born in Boston, MA on October 8, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Vincent “Jimmy” and Maria “Mary” (Rizzo) Pizzolante. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston.

Eleanor was a retired Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of North Reading. She was a Registrar and a poll worker for many years. Eleanor also worked for her husband in his tax prep business.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, traveling, casinos (slot machines), live theater and concerts. She especially enjoyed winters in Lake Suzy, Florida. Eleanor was a member of the Red Hats (Scarlet Glories) and was a Brownie Leader. She was a resident of North Reading from 1962 to 2007 and a resident of Reading since 2007.

Family members include her loving daughter Joanne Senders and her husband Kevin of Reading and her son Paul N. Jean and his wife Elaine of Potomac Falls, VA; she was the grandmother of 4, Nikki Jean Weller and her husband Matt of Sterling, VA, Tessa Senders of New York City and Brett Senders of Reading; she was the sister of the late John Pizzolante and his late wife Pearl.

Her visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, followed by a 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street, North Reading. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
