John A. “Jack” Doucette

john-doucette-picJohn A. “Jack” Doucette – 57, of Saugus and formerly of Wakefield, died at his home on Friday, November 4, 2016.

Born in Melrose, MA on February 25, 1959. He was the son of the late John A. and Nancy J. (Terhune) Doucette. Jack was raised and attended school in Wakefield. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School and the University of Tampa. He worked for Home Depot in Reading at the Pro Desk.

He has been a resident of Saugus for the past 27 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wakefield for many years.

Jack was a loyal husband, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great sense of humor, he was playful and a kid at heart. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed spending time at the ocean and swimming. Jack loved animals, especially his good buddy, Lucky the cat.

Family members include his loving wife of 27 years, Louise M. (Budetti) Doucette; his sister, Pamela Babcock and her husband Tom and his niece, Laura Babcock, all of North Reading. Also many loving family members and friends.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette Street in Wakefield. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 7 from 4 to 8 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Leona E. (Lanteigne) Greenwood

imageLeona E. (Lanteigne) Greenwood- 63, of Medford, formerly of Reading, passed Saturday, October 22 in Medford after a lengthy illness.

Born on October 17, 1953, she was the eldest daughter of the late Huguet and Beatrice C. Lanteigne (Acorn) of Reading, MA/ Montague PEI. She was raised in Montague, PEI and Reading, MA but was a resident of Medford for the last 44 years. She was a member of the Massachusetts Municipal Workers Union. She was a beloved Traffic Supervisor for 34 years in the City of Medford.

Leona was a warm hearted woman who would put everyone else’s needs above her own. Nothing meant more to Leona then her Family and friends that have surrounded her throughout her life. She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and daughter. Leona loved to drive her red convertible down South Border Road while listening to Elvis, Billy Joel, and Johnny Cash. Leona also loved to spend time at the beach and reminisce about the good times that she had shared with everyone who was a part of her life.

Family members include her loving Husband of 44 years, Robert John Greenwood, their son, Robert E. Greenwood; daughter, Nancy and Bill Newhall; brothers, (late) Charlie, Eddie, Johnny and Laura, Terry and Kim Lanteigne; sisters, Betty and Bob Geist, Mary and John Putis, Priscilla  (Kitty) Lanteigne and Jimmy Keefe, and Teresa Valente; grandchildren, Kyle Geist and Jenna Flood; Leona also leaves behind many nephews, nieces and grandnephews and grandnieces.

Funeral from Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, October 28 at 9:45 AM, followed by a 11 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt.62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 4 to 8 PM. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.

Annette M. Morelli

annette-morelli-pic2Annette M. (Moltedo) Morelli – 76, of North Reading, formerly of Somerville, died at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank B. Morelli.
Born in Boston, Ma on October 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Molinari) Moltedo. Annette was raised and attended school in Somerville. She has been a resident of North Reading for the past 49 years.
She was the School Cafeteria Manager for the Little School in North Reading for 17 years, she also owned three Restaurants in North Reading and also worked as a hairdresser in Newton. Annette had a fierce love and loyalty for her family, friends, animals and everyone at the Little School. She had a strong, independent and passionate spirit for life.
During the holidays, Annette enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and truffles and in the summer, camping at Pine Acres in Raymond, NH. She was an avid New England Patriots fan, especially Tedy Bruschi and also loved shopping.
Family members include her loving son, Michael Morelli and his wife Dede and granddaughter, Theresa Morelli, all of North Reading.
Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday, October 18 from 4 to 7 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 7 PM. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to: MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.

Bernice N. Cote

bernice-cote-croppedBernice N. Cote – age 81. Born in Salem, MA on December 23,1934, she was a longtime resident of North Reading, MA and recently D’ Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell, MA, where she passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9th 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born Bernice Natalie LaPointe on December 23rd 1934 in Salem, MA and lived there until moving with her husband Gerard Cote and 3 sons to North Reading in 1963 where she resided for many years. Always precise in her work and organizational skills she became recognized as an exceptional secretary. Bernice was an active member for the town of North Reading working for the school committee. She was also employed at American Mutual Insurance Company in Wakefield, MA for several years. Later she worked as the Office Manager for Robin Hood Camp in Sargentville, ME. She loved her summers there, easily made many friends. Robin Hood became her favorite place to be over her 29 years there and made a huge positive impact on her life. She enjoyed her family, entertained her grandchildren singing funny children’s songs to them. She loved to travel and had wonderful trips across America and Canada. She will be remembered for her loving charm, quick wit and generous humor. She was loved by all that had the pleasure to be part of her life.
Bernice leaves behind her three sons, Peter Cote of Dracut, MA, David Cote of Agawam, MA and Christopher Cote of Somerville, MA. She was one of five siblings; Denise Konos (deceased) of Danvers, MA, Henry LaPointe (deceased) Amherst, NH, Arthur LaPointe of Stow, MA and brother Roger LaPointe of Danvers, MA.
Grammy’s grandsons, Alex Cote of Pelham, NH, John Paul Cote of Agawam, MA; granddaughters, Nicole (Cote) Hunt of Florida, Amanda Cote of Framingham, MA and Emmaline Cote of Boston, MA.
