Marlene F. Falle

Marlene  F. (Russo) Falle – 41, of North Reading, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

Born in Lawrence, MA on June 19, 1976, she was the daughter of Eilleen M. (Hoy) Russo and the late Louis D. Russo, who died this past April 28, 2018.

Marlene was a lifelong resident of North Reading. She was a graduate of the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School in Wakefield, majoring in Graphic Arts. Marlene worked as a Hairdresser and a Massage Therapist.

She always put her kids before herself, she always brought happiness into people, friends, family and spirits. Marlene always knew how to turn frowns upside down in the worst situations. She was very protective over her loved ones.

She loved making creative photo collages, she made every holiday bigger, better and brighter every time she came around.

Besides her parents, family members include her loving son, Kyle Falle; daughters, Kayla Falle, Khole Cleary and Kacy Cleary; her sister, Jennifer (Russo) MacLean and her husband Ray MacLean.

Karen Lee Hurley

Karen  Lee  (Johnson) Hurley – 73, of Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of North Reading and Andover, died February 18, 2018 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Tampa, FL.

Born in Stoneham, MA on October 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Howard V. and Ruth E. (Dodge) Johnson. She was raised and attended school in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1962.

Karen was a retired Post Office Supervisor at the Distribution Center in North Reading. She was also the proprietor of Mount Vernon Antiques in Lawrence.

She spent her life taking care of her five boys and her husband. She loved annual trips to Florida with her husband and eventually bought a home in Tarpon Springs. Karen loved her Chihuahua “Rocky” who travelled everywhere with her.

She enjoyed antiquing when she ran Mount Vernon Antiques in Lawrence and she loved reading. She was very proud of her grandchildren and she enjoyed following the Red Sox.

Family members include her loving sons, John Michael Hurley and Timothy Hurley and his wife Paula, all of Manchester, NH, Sean Hurley of Tarpon Springs, FL, Terrance Hurley of North Reading and the late Patrick Hurley; sisters, Vicki J. Simpter of North Reading and Linda Gamache and her husband Bruce of Newfane, NY; brother-in-law, James Hurley and wife Linda of FL and ME; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Abigail and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Martin’s Pond Union Baptist Church, 4 Cogswell Road, North Reading at 1:00 PM. www.croswellfuneralhome.com

 

 

 

 

Stephen M. Kyte

Stephen  M.  Kyte – 62, of Lowell and formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Waltham, MA on May 3, 1956, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary A. (Honekamp) Kyte. He was raised in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School.

Stephen was a machinist and worked for Engineered Screw Products. He had a great love for his family, especially his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was very loving, caring and generous. His sparkling eyes and smile would always light up a room.

He was an avid hockey player in his youth and was a big fan of all Boston sports. He always took pride in caring for his house and yard. He enjoyed family cookouts at the pool.

Family members include his loving wife of 22 years, Patricia A. (Knight) Kyte of Lowell and formerly of North Reading; brothers, Thomas B. Kyte of Milford, NH and David Joseph Kyte of Lowell; sister, Grace M. Kyte of Concord, NC; mother-in-law, Mary E. Knight of Reading and her late husband William J. Knight, Jr.; brothers-in-law, James E. Knight and his wife Christina of North Reading and Dana Poole of Lawrence; late sister-in-law, Sandra J. Poole; several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday, May 29 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt.62), North Reading. Interment will be held at a later date. Donald F. MacMillan

Donald  F.  MacMillan – 87, of North Reading, formerly of Medford, died at his home on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Virginia (Naldrett) MacMillan.

Born in Medford, MA on December 20, 1930. He was the son of the late Allan and A. Mildred (Potter) MacMillan. He was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford Vocational High School, Class of 1948. He received his Associate Degree from Northeastern University.

Don was retired from Teradyne in Boston, where he was an Engineer for many years. He previously worked at National Radio in Melrose.

He has been a resident of North Reading for 60 years. Don was an active longtime member of the Union Congregational Church, he was involved in the Fair and the Lenten Lunches. He also was a volunteer for the Food Pantry delivery. Don always made sure he had change in his pockets for the panhandlers he’d see on the streets of Boston where he worked.

He was the Loving father of Jane M. Dringoli of Hamden, CT; Donald F. MacMillan, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Douglas B. MacMillan of Amherst; Jill A. MacMillan of Tewksbury and Jennifer A. Rouillard of South Dartmouth;  sisters, Barbara Stewart of Rockport, Janet Neal of Port Orange, FL, Roberta Robinson of North Andover, he was the brother of the late Allan MacMillan, Jr., Edith Wilson, Marjorie Bennet, Eleanor Fay and Elizabeth McLatchy;  cherished grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 4.

Funeral service will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill Street, North Reading on Wednesday, May 23 at 10 AM. Calling hours will be at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Tuesday,  May 22 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
