Edward J. Garbarino

Edward J. Garbarino – 87, of North Reading, died at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Born in Malden, MA on October 26, 1931, he was the son of the late John A. and Sophia (Rancourt) Garbarino. He was raised in Malden and attended Malden Vocational High School.

Ed served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, followed by 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a U.S. Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

After retiring from military service in 1977, Ed worked in Facilities Management, retiring from Boston Edison in 1999.

Ed was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed caring for his home and garden, as well as spending time with his family at his summer home. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his children and grandchildren.

Family members include his loving wife of 58 years , Carole  M. (Peacock) Garbarino; sons, Richard B. Garbarino and his wife Maryann of Nashua, NH and Jon D. Garbarino and his wife Kerri of Amherst, NH; his sister, Joan Zaia of Contoocook, NH; late brothers, John A. and Robert J. Garbarino; two grandchildren, Kathleen (Garbarino) Bennett and her husband Nick of N.Y. and Christine (Garbarino) Roth and her husband Capt. Stephen Roth of N.C.; two great grandchildren, Caroline and Anna of N.C.; also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, June 14 at 11 AM. Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 13 from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody. Albert N. Kenrick, Sr.

Albert  N. Kenrick, Sr.  – 77, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Wakefield and North Reading, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Sterling Aventura Assisted Living Center in Miami, FL.

Born in Stoneham, MA on March 8, 1942. He was the son of the late Edwin M., Sr. and Hazel A. (Frazer) Kenrick.

Al was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1959. He was a longtime resident of Wakefield, where he was Realtor and the owner of Kenrick Associates.  As a young man Al was the co-owner the Wakefield Barber Shop located on Albion Street.

For the last 20 years he resided in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Al is survived by his son Albert “Bert” Kenrick, Jr. of Wakefield and his brother Frank W. Kenrick, Sr. and his wife Andrea E. Kenrick of North Reading.  Al was predeceased by his son Todd Kenrick of Wakefield and brother Dr. Edwin M. Kenrick, Jr. of Framingham and Warner, NH.

His funeral will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill Street, North Reading on Tuesday, June 11 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Monday, June 10 from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Christopher J. Pignone

Christopher  J. Pignone – 48, of Middleboro and formerly of Mansfield, died unexpectedly at his home on May 9, 2019.

Born in Winchester, MA on November 8, 1970. He was the son of Stanley J. Pignone of Middleboro and the late Denise Marie (Esposito) Pignone. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School.

Chris worked for his father at the Mansfield Glass Corporation in Mansfield, he was a glazier and glass technician.

Chris was a very caring person, he had a big heart and was kind to others. He took after his lovely mother, who loved him very much. His outlook in life was very bright. Chris would always be helpful with others and would always be there if you ever needed him. People cared a lot about Chris.

Besides his father, he is survived by his loving brother, Stanley J. Pignone, Jr. and his sister, Michelle M. Pignone, both of Middleboro; his aunts, Frances Annand and her husband Ronald of North Reading, Anita Ruck of Medford, Sandra Marcotti and her husband John of Tyngsboro and Diane DiNapoli and her husband Richard of Reading.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading on Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 AM. There will be no calling hours. John H. Nee

John H. Nee – 93, of Billerica and formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center of Burlington on May 26, 2019. He joins his wife Dolores who predeceased him on the same date in 2014.

Born in Winchester, MA on January 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Elizabeth (Sheehan) Nee.

John was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He served from 1943 to 1966 and received two Bronze Stars. John was a career Navy man who loved the Navy, he traveled around the world, His priorities were his love of country and family. He cherished his family and friends.

John later worked for over twenty years for the Town of Wilmington Water Department, as an operations manager until his retirement.

Raised in rural Wilmington he always loved the outdoors, he especially loved gardening after retiring from the Navy he settled back in Wilmington surrounded by his beloved family. He cherished tending to his enormous flower and vegetable gardens. He and his wife continued to travel, his goal was to have Dorie see the world as he had while in the Navy.

Family members include his beloved wife of 65 years, the late Dolores D. (Garvia) Nee; his loving sons, Michael Nee and his wife Nancy of Plymouth and Timothy Nee and his wife Janet of Beverly; his loving daughter, Patricia Nee Morrill and her husband Richard of Billerica; 7 remarkable grandchildren, Sheila Ricchi, Laura and Jonathan Bradbury, Justin Nee and Lindsey Travers, Michelle and Jenna Nee and 7 wonderful great grandchildren, Shaun Ricchi, Lily , Alton and Ellie Bradbury, Camden and Mara Travers and Caroline Nee; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His legacy will be carried in the hearts of all he loved so much. Rest in Peace.

Philip A. Ricardo

Philip  A.  Ricardo – 75, of North Reading, formerly of Reading, Falmouth and California, died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Royal Meadow View Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Reading, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Stoneham, MA on April 15, 1944. He was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Companeschi) Ricardo. He lived in and attended school in Reading and North Reading.

Phil was retired and worked for many years as a carpenter and tradesman.

Phil had a great respect for nature and animals, especially his dogs which he loved. He enjoyed fishing, whether in Plum Island early in life or off the beaches of Cape Cod later in life. He also enjoyed Blue Grass and Country Music.

Family members include his loving sons, Philip A. Ricardo, Jr. and his wife Susanne and Corey A. Ricardo and his wife Diana; his brother Anthony Ricardo and his wife Alice; his grandchildren, Anthony and Olivia Ricardo.

Visitation will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Wednesday, May 29 from 9 to 11 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the MSPCA or to the charity of one’s choice. www.croswellfuneralhome.com
