scan-1Lorraine (Starkey) Redding – 99, died peacefully at Sutton Hill Center, in North Andover, on November 24, 2016. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Olan and Florence (Russell) Starkey. She was born in Lunenburg, MA and grew up in Keene, NH where she graduated from Keene High School. She moved to Boston in order to attend secretarial school and then she worked for the Bible Society. She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Donald C. Redding.
Lorraine worked for the North Reading School System as a bookkeeper. She attended the Union Congregational Church and volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader. Eventually Don and Lorraine moved to North Andover where she became involved with the Senior Center and took classes in bird carving, painting and knitting. She entered her art and her carvings for judging at the Topsfield Fair and took numerous ribbons.
She is survived by her brother, Russell Starkey of Keene, NH and his wife Audrey; her daughter, Donna Delaney and her husband David R. of North Andover; grandsons, David R. Delaney and his wife Shannon of Haverhill, Kevin L. Delaney and his wife Kara of Bloomington, IN and Bryan D. Delaney of Malden. Lorraine’s biggest thrill was to hold her three great grandchildren, Colin, Claire and Jack.
A memorial service will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading on Wednesday, December 7 at 10 AM . There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the North Andover Senior Center, 120R Main St., North Andover, MA 01845.

Patricia A. Ford

patricia-ford-picFord, Patricia A.  (Whitney)-North Reading:  Saturday November 19, 2016 at age 81.  Predeceased by her daughter, Lisa; mother and father, Agnes and Willard Whitney, parents-in-law Violet and Robert Ford, loving aunts & uncles Geraldine & John Kelly, Kathleen Owens, Helena & William Cass, Abbie & Sandy Simpson.  She is survived by her  husband of 60 years, Roy Ford; daughter Mary Jo (Lawrence Hohl), sons Robert (Catherine Fuller), Thomas (Lisa Pulaski), Daniel (Susan Blacker), and John (Sandra Powers); grandchildren Patricia, Elizabeth, John, Daniel, and Michael Hohl; Melissa Saco-Vertiz, Brian, Brendan, and Kevin Ford; Rebecca, Meaghan, and Alexander Ford; Sarah, Matthew, James, and Nathan Ford; cousin Barbara Symonds and husband Charles; sisters-in-law Jacqueline Bleakney, Beverly Lowrey, and dear friends.

Born in Boston, MA on February 6, 1935, Pat lived in Quincy and at age 13 moved to Keene, New Hampshire where she graduated from Keene High School in 1953.  Pat was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing.  She was a staff nurse, then Assistant Director of Nursing for 20 years at Meadowview Nursing Home in North Reading.  She was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading, having served on the Parish Council, and Holy Trinity Parish: Our Lady of Grace in Bristol, New Hampshire. An active supporter of her children’s activities, Pat sustained friendships with people met through Scouting and sports organizations.  Pat is especially remembered for her support and presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading, MA. on Saturday, November 26 at 10:30am.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.  Family and friends are invited to call at Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday November 25 from 4pm – 7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center.

John A. “Jack” Doucette

john-doucette-picJohn A. “Jack” Doucette – 57, of Saugus and formerly of Wakefield, died at his home on Friday, November 4, 2016.

Born in Melrose, MA on February 25, 1959. He was the son of the late John A. and Nancy J. (Terhune) Doucette. Jack was raised and attended school in Wakefield. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School and the University of Tampa. He worked for Home Depot in Reading at the Pro Desk.

He has been a resident of Saugus for the past 27 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wakefield for many years.

Jack was a loyal husband, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great sense of humor, he was playful and a kid at heart. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed spending time at the ocean and swimming. Jack loved animals, especially his good buddy, Lucky the cat.

Family members include his loving wife of 27 years, Louise M. (Budetti) Doucette; his sister, Pamela Babcock and her husband Tom and his niece, Laura Babcock, all of North Reading. Also many loving family members and friends.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette Street in Wakefield. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 7 from 4 to 8 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading.
