Mechele C. Cronin

Mechele C. (Pothier) Cronin – 51, of North Reading, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Winchester, MA on December 23, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Joyce Marie Pothier. Mechele was raised and attended school in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1983.

Mechele has been the Van Driver for the Edith A. O’ Leary Senior Center in North Reading for the past 12 years. She was kind, compassionate and caring. Mechele touched many lives and hearts with her incredible sense of humor and her boundless energy. She cared deeply about her children and her “peeps” from the Senior Center.

Family members include her children, Kelsey Cronin and her fiancé Kyle Desrosiers, Mackenzie Cronin and her significant other Matthew O’Riordan, Connor Cronin and his significant other Roslyn; uncles, Francis Pothier and wife Maria, Charles Pothier and wife Louise; Joseph Pothier and wife Dale, James Pothier and wife Paula; aunts, Linda Homan, Patricia Pearce, Elizabeth Murphy and husband Richard. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mechele’s memory to the Edith A. O’Leary Senior Center, 157 Park St., North Reading, MA 01864.  www.croswellfuneralhome.com

  1. Thank you so much for the countless amount of hilarious memories. I remember the day that me and kelsey made you bring us to macdonalds for happy meals….when we were 22… ! I really do feel lucky to have known you. Its been a while mama Mechele..but you will be missed

  2. Kelsey, Mackenzie, and Connor, I am so sad to hear about your Mom. I’m thinking of you all and hope you are doing OK. I will never forget Mechele’s smile. My memory of her, she was always smiling. Or, the long train ride to DC. So many fun memories of that trip. I hope your memories of your Mom will comfort you during this difficult time. Xoxoxo

  3. Mechele, I am so saddened by the news. I am working Friday night til 715 PM so I won’t be able to make it to pay my final respects. What a huge blow, this is a tough loss for me and I’m sure to many. A message to your kids: She loved you and she was proud of all of you! She was a great mom, a great friend and an angel to many in the N.Reading community. She will definitely be missed!!! Keep lighting up the sky with your smile Mechele!!!   6. My heart goes out to all the Pothier family I’m saddened by the news, open your wings and fly mechele soar high sweet angel..
    I’m so happy I was able to spend time with you in July it was great talking about old times when we were kids … I will truly miss you Rest In Peace my dear cousin!!
