John C. Wiese

John C. Wiese – 71, of Palm Coast, FL; formerly of North Reading, MA, died at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, after an 11 ½ year battle with cancer.

Born in La Crosse, WI on July 31,1950 to the late Edwin B. Wiese of Wisconsin and Catherine Kaufman Wiese of New Jersey. He was a graduate of La Crosse High School in 1968; and also attended Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake, VA after retiring from the military.

After his military career he worked as a general contractor / construction worker and loved what he did. John would always be around to lend a hand with everyone saying, “call John, he’ll know how to do it”, even if it was the “John Wiese Way” the job got done. Some of most beloved hobbies were; fishing (couldn’t stop talking about the Smith boat), hunting, riding motorcycles, camping with his RV. Cookouts where everyone was around and he could play cribbage and hang out with his “Stoli dog” always brought a smile. If softball was happening; he was in. Loved being a member and enjoying time at the VFW and K of C. When able, Texas Hold Em’ at the Amvets Saint Augustine was a must every Sunday with his pal Steve Correale. What more could anyone ever say with his loving heart, helping hand, special smile. With his family being so far away he was treated by Walter and Rita McNeil as their own. 6. P.I.P My friend and fellow Seabee. It was an honor and privilege to serve with you. Most of, I cherish the memories we made in homework in Gulfport with Buck Bell. We were the 3 Amigos!! I learned a tin from John and owe my career to him.
To Chrissy and family, you don’t know how much his passing hurts my heart. I wish life wasn’t so busy and I could have spent more time with John , after I finally found him. He was one of a kind, with a deep voice and a heart of gold!! We called him Magilla Gorilla but he was more like a Big Teddy Bear. I will miss him and can’t wait to see him and Buck again. May He rest in Peace, no more pain, and in the comfort of the arms of God.
