  4. So terribly sad. He was too young. I think so often of Johnny doing flips into the ocean or us joining for a big Thanksgiving feast. Our love and prayers to the extended family. Our prayers for you Ellen especially.

  5. Will never forget the times we spent as kids, swimming across Martins Pond, playing sand lot baseball, football at the FIELD on Voke Street, Caddying and Golfing at the Hillview. We had allot of fun growing up together, at times I felt as if we were brothers. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you Johnny (Yogi), Ellen, Patsy, Danny, Mary, Nate.

  6. Danny & family, I didn’t know your brother, John, but I would like to extend my condolences to you and the entire Ahern family on your loss. Sending prayers for his immediate family as they grieve.

  7. Working together at the TCC, with Owen. Two Florida road trips(also with Owen). Bowling night. Poker night. Black Russians at 300 Derby St. Frisbee at the beach. And much more! We had a lot of good times back in the day. I wish we had been in closer touch the last few years, but I will always remember John (he hated to be called Johnny, except by family). Sincere condolences to Ellie, Patsy, Dan, Mary and Nate, and to all the nieces and nephews and anyone else whose life he touched.

  8. My condolences to Ellen, Maggie Mae, Mary, Nate, Patsie, Dan. Johnny (as I called him) and I shared a lot of childhood memories, we were best friends first in little league the Phillies where we were coached by our fathers Bud and Bill no special treatment there. I would do his paper route with him just so we could play baseball on Voke St. sometimes just the two of us. Not only was he funny and a jokester but he actually was working on a comic strip book complete with illustrations and it was really good. We played soccer together in High School, John scored a goal against Masco which gave us a 1-1 tie, they were undefeated, we were the only blemish on their record (I may have passed him the ball). Card games and especially the food he brought were legendary at the Mansion, 90%of the time John and I were the last ones playing head on till 2-3 in the am.I could go on and on but lastly I want to mention the Superbowl parties @ John and Ellies with all of our families, they knew how to throw a party. Again John and Ellie would put out an unbelievable spread. Rest in peace John and I’m sure you will keep them laughing.

  9. please accept my very deepest sympathies ,John was always kind to me in jr high and high school homerooms as our last names were close / he was always a gentleman! so sorry to hear of his passing.
