  5. My sincere condolences to you, Nancy and your family. I was reading the Wilmington Apple this morning and saw Fred’s name. I immediately read it and began having a flood of thoughts. I do remember Fred being such fun and a sensitive and kind man. It’s nice to read the long life together you shared. For years I tried finding you, with no luck. And here you were in the next town over! I am so sorry for your loss as I sit here and remember the Malden Savings Bank, the Broadway office, the Kernwood and Saturdays nights of all of us at the Jumbo Club in Somerville—- the good times we shared! I’m still living in Wilmington and I’ve thought about you both often. I’m also on Facebook— Sandra Enos Conwell. My regards to you and your family.

  6. I worked with Fred at Xenon for many years. He was an electronic supervisor that had very high standards of quality for his workers and himself.

He used to brag about constantly catching stripers with his son in his sons boat which I thought were typical fisherman’s tales until I saw some of the photos which made me a believer.

Every summer he would bring tomatoes to the dining area and share them with all the company workers.
He took great pride in doing this and I have to admit he was a hell of a gardner with a green thumb.

I’m pretty sure that Fred is now somewhere in heaven smoking his pipe and planning on where to cut and deliver the next cord of wood.

    RIP Fred,

    Joe P
