  1. I remember Mr. (and Mrs.) Anderson as kind neighbors who lived just down the street from us when I was growing up in North Reading. Later, he and my dad became good friends. So sorry to hear of his passing.

  2. My father, Bob Ware, was a close friend of Charlie (or ‘Andy’). They were both GE apprentice alumni and participated in reunions and other activities, often carpooling. They participated in candlepin bowling together. I always liked Charlie. He had a dry sense of humor, similar to my own. I was unaware that he was still living. My dad passed several years ago. I am sorry for your loss. He was one of the good guys.

  3. Very close friends and neighbors of my parents on Woodland Drive..both he and Edith. Charlie stayed in touch with them until the deaths of my mom and dad. A definite part of my life in North Reading and I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. Carol Loveys Butler

  4. My wife (Stefanie Kuehnel Olsen) informed me of Charlie’s passing today when I got home from work here in Newport Beach, CA… very sad to hear the news; but, happy to reflect on such long and happy memories of Charlie and Edith as nice neighbors on Woodland Drive. My parents, Barbara and Peter Olsen (22 Woodland Drive) were good friends with Charlie and Edith for many decades.

After my parents left North Reading for Santa Rosa, California in 1988, Charlie often reached out to Dad by telephone to stay in touch. Whenever I spoke with Dad (who passed away in 2012), he loved to tell me about Charlie’s updates from North Reading.

I was way too young to be good buddies with Charlie and Edith during my years on Woodland Drive, but I do have great memories of sneaking through Charlie and Edith’s backyard to pick raspberries from their back yard in the late summer and get to “frog pond” by Ipswich River to play ice hockey in the winter. Charlie and Edith were key characters in my youth and will always be remembered with great fondness and respect. RIP Charlie.
