Beverly A. Goodwin

Beverly A. (Buckler) Goodwin – 97, of North Reading and formerly of Reading, MA, died Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dana A. Goodwin, Sr.

Born in Holden, MA on July 14, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Anita (Ferguson) Buckler. She graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1942 and attended Boston University from 1942 to 1943.

Beverly worked for Veteran’s Services for the Town of North Reading from 1966 to 1990. She has been a resident of North Reading since 1946.

She always was positive, kind, generous and caring. She loved life and was adventurous. Beverly enjoyed travelling, dining out and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and wonderful homemaker taking great pride in her North Reading home that she helped build and occupied from 1961 to her time of passing. She loved horses, had her own pony as a young child and enjoyed working with her father’s Hackney Carriage Ponies. She enjoyed walking in town engaging in conversations with her many friends along the way.

Beverly loved to travel and vacationed around the world with her devoted companion of 52 years, William (Billy) Zanni of Reading.

Family members include her loving children, Dana Goodwin of Rowley, Linda Walsh of Andover, Steve Goodwin and wife Dianne, of Sandown, NH and Bruce Goodwin and wife Linda, of North Reading; grandchildren, Joseph DiFraia and Christina Prussman, both of Andover, Ben Goodwin and wife Candice of Greer, South Carolina, Matt Goodwin of Lynn and Wendy Boynton of Medford, OR, great grandchildren, Jake DiFraia of Santa Fe, NM, Jossy DiFraia of Andover, Henry, Jr., Ava and Ryan Prussman of Andover, Sydney Dunbrack of Cloud Croft, NM and Caitlin Officer of Dunsmuir, CA; and great-great grandson, Ryland Officer of Dunsmuir, CA. She was the sister of the late Bruce Buckler, Nancy Zanni and Shirley Cheyne.

Her funeral services will be private and are under the direction of the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice. www.croswellfuneralhome.com

  8. Simply Elegant! I was always in awh of both her inner and outer beauty. She and my mom became close friends while working at the Town Hall.   11. Aunt Beverly was the best. Always beautiful, smart, warm, & friendly. So many memories from Chestnut Street to Flint Street. When I moved to FL I wrote Beverly for awhile. Wish I had kept it up. Will miss her. The best to Dana,Steve,Linda and Bruce. My thoughts are with you all at this time.

  14. I am so sorry to hear today of the passing of Mrs . Goodwin . She was truly a beautiful and wonderful person .She was always so kind and nice to me and I am blessed to have known her .
